During the October Industry Summit, ESA and its summit partners selected a local non-profit to support through attendee donations and registration fees for a beat-the-sun morning fun run. ESA, FPDA: Motion Control Solutions Network, and the International Sealing Distribution Association raised $3,327 for the Lotus Learning and Arts Center (LLAC).

LLAC is a holistic, therapeutic private school for children with learning differences. The center utilizes the scientific principles of learning to reach every student and offers a teacher-directed, student-paced program involving minimal seat work and active presentation. The school has locations in Fort Walton Beach and Crestview and is opening an additional facility in Shalimar, Florida.

“We are a very mom-and-pop non-profit right now and don’t have access to large funding grants quite yet,” said LLAC Founder and President Director Karen Reid. “This generous donation goes so far to help our students and our school move forward. Thank you so much for thinking of us and considering us for your donations.”

Although the weather refused to cooperate for the morning of the Beat the Sun Run, generously sponsored by Master Packing and Rubber Company, the runners were happy their donations went to a worthy cause. Additional donations were made at the summit’s golf tournament (also rained out) and online through the Industry Summit website.
